DETAILED ITINERARY:

Day 1: – Entebbe – Murchison Falls National Park

Early morning pick-up from your hotel in Entebbe.

Drive through Bombo, Luwero, and Nakasongola, stopping at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking on foot. Observe the endangered southern white rhinos while supporting conservation efforts. Tracking takes 1½–2½ hours depending on rhino locations. Enjoy lunch at the Sanctuary.

Arrive at the lodge in the afternoon. Relax with a cool drink and enjoy the view over the River Nile

Day 2: – Murchison Falls National Park

  • Morning game drive on the northern side of the Nile to see Ugandan kobs, buffaloes, lions, and giraffes.
  • Afternoon boat cruise to the base of Murchison Falls, spotting hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and abundant birdlife.
  • Witness the roaring falls as the Nile squeezes through the 7-meter-wide gorge, creating mist and permanent rainbows. Optional view of Uhuru Falls from Baker’s Point on the southern side.

Day 3: – To Kibale Forest National Park

  • Early morning departure, crossing the River Nile then drive to Hoima for a short break.
  • Continue to Fort Portal, a royal town at the base of the Rwenzori Mountains.
  • Arrive at the lodge in the afternoon, surrounded by the sounds of the tropical rainforest.

Day 4: – Chimpanzee Trekking & Bigodi Swamp Walk

Morning Chimpanzee trek in Kibale Forest, home to 1,450 chimpanzees and a high diversity of primates. Learn about the forest’s flora, 250 butterfly species, and over 375 bird species.

Afternoon guided walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, spotting over 138 bird species, sitatungas, and Bushbucks.

Optional: Chimp Habituation Experience ($50 per person) — full-day trek with researchers from dawn to nightfall

Accommodation: Kibale Forest Camp (Self-Contained Safari Tents)

Day 5: – To Queen Elizabeth National Park

  • Depart early via the Crater Lake region, passing several scenic crater lakes including Lake Nyinambuga. Continue through Kasese to Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving by midday.
  • Optional: Visit Kyambura Gorge for a 3–4 hour walk to see chimpanzees in their underground rainforest habitat.

Day 6: – Queen Elizabeth National Park

  • Morning game drive in the park’s open plains to spot Ugandan kobs, elephants, lions, warthogs, and guinea fowl.
  • Afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, observing hippos, buffaloes, monitor lizards, and a wide variety of water birds.

Accommodation: Bush Lodge (Self-Contained Safari Tents)

Day 7: – To South Bwindi (Rushaga)

  • Depart in the morning for Kisoro / Rushaga Sector of Bwindi, passing through the scenic Kigezi Highlands, mountains, lakes, terraced hills, bamboo forests, and traditional villages.
  • Arrive in the afternoon with panoramic views of the Virunga Volcanoes.

Driving Time: ± 7 hours
Accommodation: Gorilla Valley Lodge (Self-Contained Rooms)

  

Day 8: – Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before gorilla trekking.

Duration varies (2–8 hours) depending on gorilla location. Spend one hour observing these gentle giants up close.

Return to your lodge for dinner and relaxation

Day 9: – To Lake Bunyonyi

  • Depart after breakfast for Lake Bunyonyi, a serene lake surrounded by lush hills and home to otters and over 300 bird species.
  • Spend the afternoon relaxing by the lake — swim in the bilharzia-free waters, take a canoe ride, or enjoy birdwatching from the lodge veranda.

Driving Time: ± 5–6 hours

Day 10: – To Entebbe/ Kampala

  • After breakfast, depart for Kampala/Entebbe, stopping at the Equator for photos and souvenir shopping.
    • Arrive in Entebbe for overnight at your hotel or transfer to Entebbe International Airport for onward travel.
