DETAILED/SAFARI/TOUR ITINERARY:
Day 1: Travel to Kibale Forest National Park
- Morning: Pick-up from your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala and begin the scenic drive to Kibale Forest National Park (±6.5 hours).
– The journey passes through lush countryside, papyrus wetlands, and small towns like Mubende, known for its tasty roadside barbecue.
– Continue to Fort Portal, a beautiful town nestled at the foot of the Rwenzori Mountains and home to the world’s youngest monarch.
- Afternoon: Stop for lunch in Fort Portal.
- Evening: Proceed to Kibale Forest Camp, located near the tropical rainforest.
– Overnight at the lodge.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking & Bigodi Swamp Walk
- Morning: After breakfast, set out for chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest, home to over 1,400 chimps and 12 other primate species.
– Enjoy sightings of red-tailed, black-and-white colobus, and blue monkeys, along with rich birdlife and forest flora.
- Afternoon: Take a guided community walk through Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, famous for turacos, papyrus gonoleks, and sitatungas.
- Optional: Chimp Habituation Experience (full-day activity, +$50 per person).

Day 3: Travel to Kisoro

- Afternoon: Arrive at your lodge near Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Day 4: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
- Early morning: After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before your trek.
– Embark on an unforgettable hike through the dense forest to find one of Bwindi’s gorilla families.
– Once located, spend up to one hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat — an awe-inspiring wildlife encounter.
- Afternoon: Return to your lodge for relaxation and reflection.

Day 5: Return to Entebbe
- Morning: After breakfast, begin the scenic drive back to Entebbe (±9 hours).

– Visit the Equator line near Kayabwe for photos, coffee, and souvenir shopping.
- Evening: Drop-off at your Entebbe or Kampala hotel, or transfer to Entebbe Airport for your onward flight.
