ITINERARY

Day 1:                 Arrival in Kigali

Today you will arrive in the heart of the land of a thousand hills – Rwanda. Kigali city is one of Africa’s fastest-growing cities and sprawls across numerous hills, ridges, and valleys. Its wide tree-lined boulevards and immaculate squares are safe to stroll on. Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport you shall be received by our safari guide who will transport you to your accommodation property in Kigali city. Check in and experience the warm ambiance. You shall receive a detailed briefing on this day.

Day 2:                 City tour of Kigali. Drive to Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, you will start your city tour of Kigali with a visit to the Genocide Museum. The Kigali Genocide Memorial & Museum was started by a partnership of the Kigali City Council and the UK-based Aegis Trust. The center is extremely moving, challenging, educational, and ultimately inspiring as well as a great place to understand the cause, tragedy, and successful rebuilding post-genocide. You will also visit the Kandt Museum and a local Market. As further options, you may visit Nyamirambo Women Initiative and Azizi life Art Gallery. After lunch in Kigali, you will then proceed to Volcanoes National Park. Arrive in the evening and check in at your accommodation.

Day 3:                 GORILLA TREKKING IN VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for clearance, briefing and allocation of a Gorilla family to track. Tracking endangered mountain gorillas through the mysterious intimacy of the rain forest, alive with the calls of 200 species of colorful birds and chattering of the rare golden monkey. After briefing, you will be led by experienced ranger guides on the hike to visit one of the habituated mountain Gorilla families in the park. You will spend an hour in their presence when you can observe, photograph and film them in their idyllic habitat. After tracking you shall return to your accommodation and rest. In the evening, you will visit the Ellen DeGeneres Gorilla conservation campus. Here you will be introduced to the conservation efforts and research that has propelled the remarkable story of Gorillas in Rwanda. You are free to make any donations to the institution.

Day 4:                 DRIVE TO KIGALI AND DEPARTURE

After breakfast, you will check out of your accommodation to drive back to Kigali city. You will have a few sightseeing stops along the way. Arrive in Kigali city for lunch at a specialty cuisine restaurant. Afterwards, you will be transferred to the airport to check in for your departure flight to your next destination.
